It's almost impossible to pick up a health magazine or newspaper today without there being some mention of our nation's growing problem with obesity. According to Dr. James Hill, director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, "Americans are gaining one to two pounds a year and there is no end in sight"  With the rise in weight have come increases in heart disease, diabetes, cancer and a host of other health problems. The good news is that finally we are waking up to this challenge and developing innovative strategies for successful change.

Below you will find a chart to measure healthy weight. Find your height in the left column and your weight at the bottom of the chart. Where they intersect you will find your current weight status. If you lie within the darker "overweight" areas, consider using The Portion Plate for every meal.
